The Ionia Guide.

What we absolutely LOVE about walkable urban Ionia, and why you should visit.

A Studio-About-Town.

  • Cook & Co. Creamery & Confections

This place blew me away on my first trip to Ionia, seriously. The ice cream, the candy, the brand and style blew us away - and I am not the only one, they tote a stunning 4.9 stars on nearly 150 google reviews, if you can believe it! Check them out on Facebook or stop on in the store at 411 W Main next time you have a craving. With such a cool building, you can also rent the space to host a classy event where the space makes itself.

  • Dan's Bike Shop

I have heard this shop called a local institution and I will be honest, this one tripped me up a bit at first… the owner’s name is Gary, in fact and not Dan. Gary bought it and continues to run a super cool shop. We were interested finding out about eBikes and Gary had me out test riding one on the trails and around town in minutes. It is a must stop in town for a stroll through their shop to meet the team and see what’s new in cycling. Visit them at 350 W Main.

  • Ionia City Market

If you are from Grand Rapids and ever been to Martha’s (IYKYK) then this place is one to pop into as that is what they are working to grow into. They offer a variety of boutique goods and wines, so drop by 324 W Main and bring a few things home.

  • Bluewater Cafe

We are a sucker for a good diner breakfast, and boy did we find it. If you don’t know about it, it flys under the radar; it took me a few months find my way in to try it and it sure hit the spot. Friendly staff and clearly a local hangout its a nice place where you feel at home. If you are grabbing a cup of coffee in Ionia with the Studio, we probably are taking you over there as it’s walkable from our Main Street building down at 323 W Main.

  • Brick Street Studio

These guys really have it going on in a cool former auto dealership with tons of square footage where they set up neat scenes for photos and rent out event furniture.

  • El Mariachi

I heard these guys moved from “up the hill” which if you are new to town like I am, that is actually south by where Meijer is; not north where there is also a sizable hill on the edge of downtown. Anyways, not new to area but newer on the Main Street they are a small town staple to hit for lunch or dinner.
