Walkable Urban Development Expertise

My name is Dustin and I founded the Development Studio to create walkable urban place so people can find more Flø in their everyday lives.

Ever since I can remember, I wanted to city build, but what does that career trajectory look like? Finding no clear path, I forged my own way.

Following my intuition I stitched together a breadth of expertise across the process and at considerable technical depth.

Developing Unique Capability

I earned a Masters in Architecture from the University of Michigan where I uniquely added a Graduate Certificate of Real Estate Development Studies with coursework in the Ross School of Business, Michigan Law School, Ford School of Public Policy, and Tubman College of Architecture and Urban Design. This complimented my B.S. in Civil Engineering from Michigan Tech where I focused on public transit and land development. More recently, I have continued honing my skills completing Massachusetts Institute of Technology SA+P short course in Real Estate Investment Analysis.

Over the years I am proud to have earned numerous academic and leadership recognitions, most notably a national prize in the prestigious Urban Land Institute Hines Urban Design Competition.

During my early career I managed design and engineering across a growing 4 million square foot national real estate portfolio, a job I left to get out on my own and built a consulting practice from scratch serving clients across the country. During that time I became an associate at a national institute and cultivated the idea of taking the the next step of raising funds myself and building a development firm.

Having worked across project teams accumulating over a quarter of a billion dollars of extensive experience in real estate development activity I again started anew, launching the Development Studio.

I am honored and humbled by the trust and belief of my investor group has bestowed upon my vision for the Development Studio having raised over $1,000,000 in private capital in my first year where I am bringing all my experience together to develop walkable urban place and city build.

Recently I have been enjoying serving the Downtown Development Authority in one of the communities we have invested in, and advising on a facilities committee for the board of my alma mater high school.
